I give this game a 5/5 here is why. This game starts out nice, working as a photographer was nice. The clients were goofy at times and just plain weird. The horror starts out nice and slow, I like how you're are also getting creepier and scared from the weird clients that you are getting. I also thought the paranormal horrors were also great.
Having the ghosts pop out of the screen and the mannequin were really scary. I also love the mannequin, I would like to see more of her doing more silly or cute things.
I massively enjoy this game and have it wishlisted on steam. I hope whoever got this far in the post to have a good day.
It was quite creepy and eerie at the same time. The gameplay of the photo is simple and easy but the slow creepy parts made me feel uneasy while playing. The PSX look fits the horror perfectly, and the game creates tension through the jumpscares. Also, the flickering lights make the studio feel even more unsettling. I can’t wait to play this, so I added it to my wishlist!
What a solid demo this was for sure! The game mechanics felt super solid when taking the photos, plugging in the camera and printing out the photos. For being another job simulator horror game this really has it going when it comes to how photo development works. The graphics were also stellar and the game ran fine on my machine. The atmosphere was top notch and had me scared for when every customer walked in. I cannot wait to see what the full game has in store! Made a video on it.
What a refreshing demo - a lot of indie horror job-simulator-type games stick to the tried and tested formula, but Photomaly adds in so many mechanics and quirky customers, so that the unique factor puts it above the bar.
A few jump scares that landed, some questionable requests from the customers and some eerie photos will make this one to remember. You've got a Wishlist on Steam for the full release from me - well done! (I also enjoyed Black Lamb ;)
this game was so cool! real original idea, i dont think ive seen another game out there like this. the characters are silly and funny. except for those that decide to ruin my night. real fun! cant wait for the full release!
This was really fun to play, i could probably play as a photographer without the horror elements honestly, but the lady jumpscare was just too well made, can't wait to see what you'll pull off in the full version.
Such a generous demo. I like that there's so many source of scares. Some of the customers are also commedic which made this game well balanced. Looking forward to the full game.
I cannot wait to play this full game! I usually don't even waste time to wishlist demos, but this full game will definitely be a must play for my channel! Please let us know of future projects from you! Very well done!
The game has quite an original idea compared to other games of the same style, and that makes it incredible
Knowing how these types of games usually are, it’s easy to deduce the style and gameplay it will have, but this one is definitely interesting. Not only does it bring a new mechanic I had never tried before, but it also sets itself apart quite well from other games of this style. The mechanics of taking photos, printing them, modifying them, and even developing them are unique and engaging.
However, something negative is that it never explains how to restock items. I even had to restart the game because I thought it had a bug or that I did something wrong. On top of that, there was a strange occurrence at minute 12:32 of my video where I was sent backwards, though I’m not entirely sure if it was a game error or something else.
Aside from that, the game is original and amazing, and I’d love to try the full version someday
Thank you so much for the feedback! Since someone else ran into the same issue, I pushed a quick update that shows a small hint directing the player to the store when envelopes run out or paper is depleted. Hopefully it’ll be helpful for the next players too!
The game delivers solid concept, unsettling atmosphere, unique mechanics, yet it fails at telling you one MAJOR detail.
As someone, who has played thousands of horror games, in general I do have an idea of gameplay mechanics - you clean up, you restore, you move on. The game does an excellent job at showing you how to navigate with the camera, how to take pictures, how to print them out, how to use the envelope, further in the game it shows you how to develop a photo as well...BUT...I don't understand why the game fails to either explain or remind the player that they HAVE TO buy papers and envelopes.
If you watch my playthrough, you will see that there was no indication (IN THE GAME) about the restocking. Sure, the game's page provides some information about it, but never addresses is as the main, critical aspect of the demo. Understanding this is not a full game, I'm glad there is time to fix the issue and give players proper explanation on the major mechanics.
Best of luck with this, I loved everything asides that MAJOR problem.
Thank you so much for playing the game and leaving a review! Based on your feedback, I added a small guidance message for when envelopes run out, hopefully it’ll be helpful for players after you.
